The book focuses primarily on Dr. Baars’ experiences in the Dutch and French underground during WWII, his internment in Buchenwald concentration camp, and the liberation of the camp by the U.S. 3rd Army under General Patton. It also explains how he was led to the practice of psychiatry. 226 pages; 8 pages of photographs.
